Hock Show Weekend Top Five for November 8th – 14th, 2009
1. There’s This “Call of Duty.” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 came out this week, and immediately had the biggest opening week of any entertainment product ever. I think I might be the only person who didn’t buy this, but then again I still haven’t finished any of the other 200 Call of Duty games.
2. MGM Is For Sale. The entire classic Metro Goldwyn Mayer studio is up for grabs right now, and who wouldn’t want it? The rights to Robocop? Come on! And…um…Tom Cruise? Actually, partial rights to the Bond and Lord of the Rings franchises are in there, so it might not be such a bad deal, if you’ve got several hundred million in the bank.
3. I Take Back What I Said About Bombing the Moon. Apparently, the moon bombing wasn’t the horrible failure I made it out to be a few weeks ago. Apparently, they did find traces of water on the moon’s surface after shooting it. Proving…um…Yeah.
4. Blind Gamer Sues Sony. Apparently, Sony isn’t making gaming accessible enough to the blind. I’m…not even sure what that means. But I’m sure this guy has a good point. I just can’t see what it is.
5. Johnny Depp Is an Enabler. Nicolas Cage bought, like, ten different mansions and castles around the world, as well as millions of dollars in cars and other crap. So, ti’s no surprise that he went broker than MC Hammer on a Saturday. But Johnny Depp is going to hand over some cash to keep Cage out of the poor house, proving that he’s both a better man and a better actor than me. Damn you, Johnny Depp.
